We talked with the neonatalogist here in Saginaw and he said Cameron is improving on his labored breathing. Enough improvement so that Karen can breast feed him and not have to be tube fed. Cameron no likey the tube in his mouth. He likes to pull it out on his own. They also see no need to do any extra testing on the lesion. Therefore no more radiation exposure for now. Karen is suppose to go home tomorrow, which has its' pro and cons. The pro is Preston can come home and stay with mommy and daddy. The con is just longer trips to see Cameron. I am just glad that we live in Saginaw and not up north somewhere. I work only 3 blocks away from the hospital, so you know where I will be during my lunch hour. |

We got the results of the CT scan late last night and he has a 3cm lesion on his right lung. This would be the bronchiopulmonary sequestration that we had hoped was gone. We talk with the doctors at Childrens Hospital of Phil. (CHOP) and they said a 3cm lesion should not cause the labored breathing, but they don't know for sure. He also has a heart murmur as you know. They also did an echocardiogram this am, we don't know the results of that yet. He has a high bilirubin today also, so he has a UV light on him to convert the bilirubin in his blood. He has a real spa treatment now, with sun lamps and heat with daily body lotion applied. We may have a hard keeping up his expectations when we take him home. The doctors hear are going to be in contact with the doctors at CHOP to see if it is ok to go to Detroit Children's Hospital, Ann Arbor or if he has to go to CHOP. |

Cameron did not resolve his breathing difficulties at the pace they thought he should, so they performed a CT scan on him at 2:00pm. We will know the results probably Saturday morning. The doctors also stated he has a heart murmur. They will do a test on his heart sometime after the CT scan. Good news is he is no longer on the IV and is getting food via the feeding tube. I fed him today and he took 1 oz of formula with a Karen colstrum kicker. Karen is doing well. She is walking up to the NICU and usually then uses the wheelchair on the way down. Today she walked back on her own. On a scale of 1 to 5 she is a 3 on pain. She looks good and is eating ok. We will keep you posted of the CT scan.
